To put Golazio, a brand new bar, opening on the quiet end of Camberwell Road, on the map. The location, with little passing trade, is equidistant from Elephant and Castle, Kennington and Denmark Hill stations. Working closely with the owner, who has no previous bar experience, BIG little LDN were tasked with the creation of the brand and the build and execution of the marketing strategy in the run up to it's launch
First, the bar needed an identity. We brainstormed and researched the market before coming up with Golazio. Next the logo and the brand colours, which needed to feel authentically Italian as opposed to feeling like a football bar. We created the brand book inclusive of the font types, brand colours and variations of the logo, provided the design for the fascia and briefed other suppliers to ensure consistency throughout.
We then organised the press launch. Timing was crucial, after the World Cup 2018 but, before the new 2018/19 season started.
BIG little LDN was responsible for:
Researching the market and forging strong relationships with journalists, publications, authors, local businesses, local influencers.
Organising the content of the evening
Talent booking, liaison and logistics
Creation of the event page and pricing strategy
Pre and post event press release writing and distribution
Over 1,000 organic Twitter followers gained within the first two days of the Twitter account
Captured the attention of James Richardson, who is seen as the anchor of 90's Italian football
Press attendees included respected journalists from, The Guardian, The Gentleman Ultra, Dazed, Mundial, Four Four Two, Daily Star, Top Corner, Outside Write and Football Italia. Other attendees included Mark Hateley, Tony Dorigo, deCoubertin book publishers and author of World in Motion, Simon Hart.
As a result of the social hype we created on Twitter, the bar has seen people travel from as far as Manchester and Leeds to check it out. There have been many people coming to Golazio as tourists of London. Making Golazio as important as a visit to Buckingham Palace, this is bringing a new wave of people to this previously unvisited part of South East London.
It was good fun, you made it a great event, thanks for the invite. Can't wait for the next one.
