With an interest in the long-term viability and continued authenticity of the arts and culture in Hackney Wick, the aim of Wick Wednesday is to retain, grow and protect the creative sector by building positive, mutually beneficial relationships with existing and future businesses in the area. 

The challenge is to help facilitate a permanent, sustainable, creative economy for local residents, businesses and institutions in Hackney Wick by encouraging as many people to attend the multitude of events and experiences happening on the third Wednesday of every month.


  • Generated an average email open rate of 25% 

  • Received press coverage in The Londonist, Time Out and Hackney Citizen with a links back to the Wick Wednesday blog and participating venues.

  • Syndicated content with the London Legacy Development Corporation for their direct mailer to local residents.

  • Positive feedback from participating venues, noting an increase in traffic to their websites and from one venue, "Double the amount of people to their class".

  • Links to the Wick Wednesday blog from Telford Homes (sponsors of the event)


We liaised and formed partnerships with local businesses who are providing the content for Wick Wednesday. We have supplied these businesses with assets to share on their own channels including websites, direct mail and social media. 

Design and creation of an invite and poster, allowing the public and press to recognise Wick Wednesday as a brand. This was left in participating venues, put up on noticeboards, and walls around the local area and wider East London. 


Written press releases for each event, tailored for certain journalists and publications to encourage coverage of the event and publicity for the partners.

Influencer marketing strategy to encourage a wider audience to visit Wick Wednesday.

Creation and execution of an email marketing strategy to existing database of subscribers.
