The background

ALA Insurance launched Cycle Insurance in May 2021 and to mark the occasion, we developed a month long Instagram campaign with cycling advocate, activist, blogger and award-winning author Jools Walker, aka Lady Velo.

The aim was to create content that allowed ALA Insurance to have a voice within the cycling community whilst also encouraging people to get out and about on their bicycles.

The BIG solution

Working with Jools, we created a content series inspired by her Coffee Cycle Saturdays which encourages people to get on their bicycles and be a tourist in their own town or city.

Tapping into Jools' heritage growing up in East London, our first film, "Down Memory Lane" saw her take us to some of the places she used to ride her bicycle as a kid, whilst showing us a photo of her as a child in that same location.

The second film, "Favourite Spots" gave Jools the chance to share her top three cyclist friendly coffee shops in London and what makes them so special to her.

Week three, Jools took over the ALA Insurance Instagram channel for a live "Coffee Morning" session where she spoke about her love for cycling and gave the audience a chance to ask her any questions.

And just as every bicycle needs to be insured, every cyclists' body should be also. So for the final part of our campaign, we arranged a collaboration between Jools and trainee stunt woman, personal trainer and Lululemon ambassador, Daisy Hughes, for a live 20 minute stretch session on the ALA Instagram channel.
